The Library Board will have five (5) seats on the Board up for election in April 2015. Please note that Board members are not paid to be on the library Board: this is a volunteer position serving as a community leader. Notice is hereby given that the office of the Village Clerk for the Village of North Aurora will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. beginning December 15, 2014 through December 22, 2014 (until 5:00 p.m.) for the purpose of accepting candidate petitions for the 2013 Consolidated Election to be held on April 7, 2015 for the following offices for the Messenger Public Library Board of Trustees:

  • Library Trustee – 2 year term
  • Library Trustee – 2 year term
  • Library Trustee – 4 year term
  • Library Trustee – 4 year term
  • Library Trustee – 4 year term

The dates and times that the Village Hall will be open to accept the nominating petitions are as follows:

  • First day to file: Monday, December 15, 2014 - 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, December 16, 2014 - 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, December 17, 2014 - 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, December 18, 2014 - 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
  • Friday, December 19, 2014 - 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
  • Last day to file: Monday, December 22, 2014 until 5:00 p.m.

Petitions should be filed at the North Aurora Village Hall, 25 E. State St., North Aurora, IL 60542.

A lottery will be held for all simultaneous filings that are filed at 8:00 a.m. on the first filing day.

This past summer the Library Board (July 10, 2014) approved a change to the Internet and Computer Use Policy for the Library.In order to provide access to information and resources, all patrons, regardless of age, automatically have access to computers and unfiltered internet.If you do not want your minor child (age 17 and younger) to have access to computers and unfiltered internet within the library building, please notify a Library staff member so we can change your child’s current registration status with the Library.You can read the updated policy here. [Image Source]

The Library Trustees are considering a revision of the current Meeting Room Policy, and welcome input from the public. Please address any comments to the Library Administrator, Kevin Davis, at gkdavis@messengerpl.org, or attend the December Board Meeting. The December Board Meeting is on December 11 and begins promptly at 7 PM.
