Book Clubs

The Messenger Public Library has two monthly book clubs - the Messenger Library Book Discussion Group, which meets on aThursday evening, and the Morning Coffee Break with a Book, which meets on a Tuesday morning.  Click here to see what books we're reading, and come and join us!

Computer Classes

The Library holds computer classes to help you get started using a computer, introduce you to a new program, or help you navigate the web.  We plan on offering more computer software classes in the future, as staff time and user interests change. Keep checking our online calendar, or submit your email to receive information on upcoming programs, classes and events.

Did you know you can set up a one-on-one "Book A Librarian" session at for hands-on computer software practice? Call the Adult Services department at 630-896-0240 (select option 3). Appointments are based on your schedule and staff availability.

Monthly Group Meetings

Fox Valley Writers Group

Meets the second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 7-8:30 PM. 

New members and writers always welcome!

Games for Grownups

Meets the third Thursday of the month from 6:30-8:30 PM. Welcome to the world of board games! Join us as we enjoy snacks and play games such as Ticket to Ride and King of Tokyo. A different game will be featured each month. Beginners welcome. For adults and teens 16 and up.

Art Club for Grownups

Meets the third Saturday of the month from 10 AM-Noon. Unleash your inner artist! Beginners welcome! Come explore new techniques and hone your skills, while connecting with other artists. Pleaqse register in advance so that we can have enough supplies for everyone. For adults and teens over 13 (with registered adult). All supplies will be provided. Be sure to check our newsletter or online calendar for special sessions that may require registration.
