Job Title: Youth and Teen Services Librarian
Hours: 37.5 hours/week including evenings and weekends Salary: $18.05/hour
Are you enthusiastic, dedicated to excellent customer service, and passionate about working with children, teens, and families? We’re looking for a team-oriented librarian who is excited and ready to jump into collection management, programming, reference, reader’s advisory, and outreach. The ideal candidate will want to: build relationships with our patrons, schools and community; create and deliver programming for all ages (especially STEAM activities); and, encourage literacy and a love of learning for all ages.
The Youth & Teen Services Department serves children birth – 18 years old and their caregivers. Primary responsibilities include: collection management, readers’ advisory and reference services, and planning and implementing programming for children and teens. Click here for job description.
Positive, organized, and able to work well under pressure
Prior experience working with children, teens, and caregivers in a library setting
Knowledge of children’s and teen literature and current trends in programming
Comfortable with current technology
Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and to varied work schedules
Excellent communication and writing skills
MLS from an ALA-accredited institution
Public service experience
